Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I'm a year 7 doing a science fair project and I'm trying to replicate a reusable water system which includes funneling and water transportation. I'm currently just struggling with water transportation since I haven't yet found a way to make water go upwards back into the main tank where most of the water is stored. Please help.

yxpeng - Without knowing what your limitations are, obviously some form of energy is going to be required to move the water upwards through a pipe. A pump, driven by electricity, wind or solar energy is a thought. For a classic solution, research Archimedes Screw, another elegant solution. Perhaps if you tell us more, we can be of more help.
