Differences in mutagen?

With both chemical and physical mutagens of any sub-type, do they tend to give specific mutations more often? As if I was to write a depth study on if one type of mutagen is better for getting positive mutations in a plant that grows fruit, would something like base analogues be hypothetically better than x-rays as a mutagen? In any case, if anyone knows where to get any related data on this subject or just lots of mutagen data, that would be greatly appreciated!
