Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hello.
I am currently working on a science project that deal with the science and method of DNA Fingerprinting. I am also currently pressed for time on this subject so a fast response from an expert would be appreciated. I would like to email this expert in order to interview them for a part of my science project.

My questions are:

1) How does DNA fingerprinting affect investigations in the FBI? In your opinion, is CODIS more helpful or harmful? Explain.

2) What are the different methods for collecting DNA besides CODIS and DNA fingerprinting?

3) What are some new technologies that are being developed in order to help CODIS?
