Hi,

I am conducting an experiment, which contains a tablet being pushed into a cup of water off a table by a ping pong ball. I was wondering if you could help me answer what energy transformation occurs when the tablet falls in and fizzes? Is it chemical potential to chemical?

You are on the right track. Chemical potential energy refers to the energy stored in bonds holding the atoms together. On reaction the bonds break and new compounds are formed. Energy is either released or absorbed during the reaction.
