I'm testing herbal remedies vs antibiotics. How many of each should I test. I will be using E-Coli and serratia marcesens.
Please can you help me?

Hi andweav,
When doing science experiments, generally the more tests you conduct the better. If you are using only one herbal remedy and one antibiotic as your independent variables, than I suggest that you conduct at least 6 tests using each I.V. . 10 tests would be a good number of tests to shoot for. i.e. 10 tests for herbal remedy/E-Coli, 10 tests for herbal remedy/serratia marcesens, etc. But if you have more than 2 independent variables, such as many different kinds of herbal remedies and many different types of antibiotics, than you can get away with fewer tests for each, but 2 or 3 is not enough. If you are unable to conduct 10 tests, do not stress over it. Do as many as you possibly can, but just make sure that you do not do too few. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thankx Jsnell.
If I use 2 Herbs and 3 antibiotics, how many times should I repeat with each variable to prove my results?

Hi andweav,
Since you have a total of 5 independent variables, I would recommend that you conduct atleast 4 experiments for each I.V. level. But the more times you conduct the experiment for each level, the better. Good luck.
