This is an engineering design activity in which students can design their own launch device. After experimenting with a simple catapult with a paper clip and rubber band, students go on to design their own devices using recycled or craft materials. They will determine the dimensions of the device as part of seeing what works best, what is stable enough, and so on.

Samples are shown in the video and lesson, but directions for building these are not provided.
