Serial Dilution from E. Coli Kwik Stik (ATCC 25922)

Post by Maxination »

Have a good day everybody :')

I have questions about serial dilution which i am not sure how to start with. I've already read some information from the internet about serial dilution but i still don't get what i want to know. I hope that you all can replay me ASAP. Thanks.

I want to make a dilution from E. Coli Kwik Stik. Here the problem.
My questions,
1) What is the expected CFU of E. Coli in Kwik Stik? My tutor said it was containing 10^6 CFU expectedly. But i could not find any information about it in the google.
2) If i directly put that Kwik Stik contained of E. Coli into 1000 ml of sterile deionized water, what is the concentration of the E. Coli in 1000 ml of sterile DI? How to calculate that?

If anyone can answer that, i will be grateful to thank you all. Thanks you.
