Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I know what ion thrusters are used for but are ion wind rotors actually used for anything? Because I really want to win the state science fair, again, but I need to know what they are used for so I can do my 150 word essay about it.

It's unlikely because there are more energy-efficient way to make things spin.

Hi - this project is intended as a demonstration of technology that can be used for spacecraft propulsion. Do more research on "ion thrusters" which you should be able to find in the project.
