what would be a good test kit to measure a certain oil level in soil?

Does your project require you to measure the exact amount of oil in the soil? I did a search online and found hydrocarbon detection strips that will tell you whether or not your sample has oil in it, but I haven't found any at-home tests that will tell you the exact amount of oil. Those types of tests usually require a professional lab and can be pretty pricey. If you tell us what question you are trying to answer with your experiment, we might be able to help you figure out an alternative option.
