Radioactivity

Post by Speedybtw »

A student has 8.00g of a radioactive substance, which emits beta radiation. Its half life is 12 hours. Twenty four hours later he measured its mass and was surprised to find the mass of the sample was still 8.00g, not 2.00g as he expected. Explain why he should not have been surprised.

Hello,

ScienceBuddies is for students working on science fair experiments. This sounds like it might be a homework question. Do you have a question related to a science fair project?
