The project calls for 2% Lugol's iodine solution.

Using 1% iodine solution alone may not be suitable for this experiment. There are a couple of reasons why:
- Indicator function: the starch solution serves as an indicator that changes color in the presence of iodine. 1% Iodine would not have those same abilities
- Titration accuracy: the starch solution as an indicator allows for a precise titration of the iodine solution. Overall, this gives a consistent and accurate titration process
- Iodine concentration: 1% iodine solution may not be the optimal concentration for accurate titration in the experiment. The iodine solution used in the titration is typically lower and varies based on the method protocol.
