I am doing a PJAS (Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) project and I really want to do a microbiology project but my teacher said they most likely wouldn't allow it. Is there any way I could still do this?

You will need to look carefully at the rules for the fair to see what limitations there are. Your teacher may have run into an issue in the past? We aren't able to tell you what projects they will allow. I suggest starting on their site:

Then reach out to their contact email if you still have specific questions. Be sure you've looked carefully at the guidelines first.

I see microbiology listed on this page, so I would definitely take a close look:

Students prepare science projects in one of the following research areas: Biochemistry, Behavioral Science, Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Space Science, Ecology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, or Zoology.
