Hi! So I’m a 7th grade student and I decided to do this project but my teacher wants us to use the “If,then, because” method for our hypothesis. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips? :?:

Hello!

For the "if, then" hypothesis format, you'll want to begin by stating which variable you are changing. The "then" part of the sentence will incorporate your prediction for the result. For example, if I were doing an experiment to test how different amounts of water affect the growth of plants, my hypothesis could be: if the amount of water increases, then the height of the plants will increase.

First, identify your independent variable, or the variable you are changing. Use this for the "if" part of the hypothesis. Then make a prediction about what will happen - this will become your "then" statement.

Please feel free to reach out with any more questions. Good luck with your experiment!

Best,
Chloe
