Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I'm in 9th grade and working on my science project for YMWIC Foundation, Inc. The project chosen was:

Predicting Future Water Quality with Machine Learning.
Per the instructions I am supposed to chart 4 weeks of info from the USGS National Water Dashboard but all the charts only show one week's worth of info.

Average Temperature
Average Turbidity
Average pH
Average Specific Conductance
Average Dissolved Oxygen
Average Dissolved Oxygen +1 day
Average Dissolved Oxygen +1 week
Average Dissolved Oxygen +4 weeks
Final

Unless I'm totally missing something, all the bodies of water only show one week's worth of data and there is no option to expand the data ranges beyond 1 week. Please help, next round of project submissions is in a week and a half. Thanks

Hi Max -- Can you confirm that after selecting a location (a yellow marker), you clicked the button to "open the site page"? (This is noted in step 3.)

In step 6:
6.a On the USGS data page (make sure you are on the Site page that you opened in Step 3 for your specific body of water), under ‘Select data to graph,’ choose ‘Temperature, water, degrees Celsius.’ --- To get to that, scroll down on the site page to the Data Type section.

6.b Click ‘Change time span’ and choose an approximately 3-month time span for your training data. Make sure that for the time span you choose, there is at least one month of data available after that time span. For example, if you choose a time span from 01/01/2024 to 03/31/2024, make sure that there is data going up to at least 05/01/2024. Click on the ‘Change time span’ button to save. --- The "Change Time Span" button appears above that data type section.

You can enter your start and end dates there.

It sounds like you may have just been looking at the popup screen you see when you click a marker on the map, rather than the Site Page.
