i am part of a team that is working on dead zones, could I fix dead zones by pumping
oxygen rich water into it and mixing it around?

This is a very interesting question. Yes technically you could pump oxygen rich water into dead zones and mixing it around, but there are 2 issues with that:
1. If it is a large/deep dead zone it will be hard to do this process.
2. This would only be a temporary fix, because you are not fixing the problem at it's root. The surplus of nutrient would just cause the dead zone to happen again. Maybe try to look more into how you can reduce nutrient pollution. Good luck!
