Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I'm doing the "How Easily Can Your Password Be Hacked?" project for a science fair but I encountered an error when running the program. When asking the program to guess password 0 it uses bleep 3 first and it works perfectly fine. But when going on to use bleep 4 the program just stops. It says "Using bleep 4 with 26 punctuation characters and 30000 words..." and nothing happens. I let the program run for a long time but it's stuck there. When restarting the program it just does it again. Does someone know why this is happening?

It seems that you are experiencing a legitimate problem. When I ran the code, this was the response:
"Using bleep 4 with 26 punctuation characters and 435 words...
The search took 7 seconds for 19,679,400 tests or 2,731,068 tests per second.
bleep 4 did not work!
Press enter to continue."
As you can see, the code should only take 7 seconds to run. It seems your message is different from mine - your program uses 30,000 words while mine uses 435. The 435 words come from the passwords.txt file created by Science Buddies. Have you been using a different file for your words? If this is the case and there are 30,000 words, the problem may be that 30,000 words is simply an incredible amount to check. Waiting a bit longer may be the best solution. How long has the program been stuck? Has it become unstuck since you've posted?
If the 30,000 word list is a mistake, double-check that python is using the passwords.txt file that should be in the same folder as your crack_password.py file, then try running it again.

Thank you for the reply. It made me realize that the file i was using was a full list of words entirely uncensored instead of the one provided by science buddies. I dont even remember how it got like that but its working perfectly fine now.
