I have tried this experiment and it does not work, has someone tried it before and got it to work?

Hi - I wrote the updated version of this project and took the pictures, so I can confirm that it worked at the time with the exact parts linked in the materials list and the circuit shown. We may be able to help if you can provide more details. Did you purchase the exact parts linked in the materials list? Can you show us pictures of your circuit (using the "attachments" feature below the reply box) so we can verify that it's wired correctly?

Hi There, many thanks for fast reply.
You got me thinking to double check everything. The audio input was not connected properly, filmsy wires etc, so i soldered wires directly to the audio jack and now it works.
