Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I have to determine what unknown bacteria I have been given after performing a variety of tests, but I am struggling. None of my results perfectly match with research and therefore I am stuck on how to narrow it down.

I am unsure how to interpret a couple of test results, so I have attached some pictures in hopes of receiving some help. Specifically regarding the semisolid motility test -- I cannot tell if this indicates motility or not.

Here are some of my other test results, I think it may be a type of pseudomonas but I am unsure: gram stain
pink rod shaped – gram negative
temperature
grew better at RT, but still some growth at 37 degrees
oxygen requirement
grew better with oxygen, but still showed limited growth without oxygen
phase contrast microscope
appeared to not be motile (unclear)
PR sugar fermentation test
glucose: orange – weak/no fermentation
lactose: red – no fermentation
MR test
negative (was yellow not red)
VP test
negative
nitrate reduction test
no nitrate reductase
citrate test (simmons citrate)
remained green = negative (does not eat citrate)
cultural motility (semi-solid)
unclear – slightly cloudy (most dense along stab line)
cytochrome C oxidase test
positive – turned blue
indole test
negative
KIA test
negative
urea test
negative
gelatin test
uncertain (positive?)
starch test
uncertain (positive?)

Your picture has color only at stab line indicating that it is a non-Motile bacteria.

Pseudomomas is motile and citrate positive. A biochemical identification chart may help you identify your organism. Here is one specifically for Gram negative organisms.
