How to Repolarize Magnetic Tape

Hello,
this is Julian wanting to ask you a question about how to remagnetize magnetic tape for the science project on how to build a Magnetic levitation train. And currently I have the everything set up to get to data done, but my "train" does not want to lift up off of the track. I have even reordered the correct monopolar tape after accidentally getting bipolar magnets. And I have also repeatedly rubbed the train with a neodymium magnet on both, originally, the bipolar and the monopolar tape. Can you by any chance help me figure out what is wrong with my tape, or if I just have to keep rubbing the neodymium magnet over the shorter magnets on the block that is my "train".
Thank you for helping,
Julian

Hi Julian -- have you gone through the directions in step 7 of the faq to guide the repolarization process? This is a common problem, and repolarizing should work.

Hi,
Julian here. Yes as a matter of I did try doing step 7. The problem was the neodymium magnet is not repolarizing the magnets on the train, or maybe they are not getting a strong enough reaction to the repolarization?
Thank you,
Julian
