Microsoft Electrical Hardware Engineering Internship Interview Experience?

Hi everyone,

I have an upcoming interview for a Microsoft Electrical (Hardware) Engineering internship and was hoping to hear from anyone who's been through the process.

My recruiter mentioned that I should be comfortable with computer science fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and data structures. That surprised me a bit since I expected the interview to focus primarily on hardware topics.

For those who have interviewed for a similar role, what was the interview like? Did it include coding questions, or was it mainly hardware concepts and project discussions? Were there any particular technical areas that I should spend extra time reviewing?

I'd also appreciate hearing about the overall interview format and any tips that helped you prepare.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

These forums are for K-12 students, mostly working on school science and engineering projects. We don't have volunteers who can provide this specific interview information.

We recommend posting in other general forums where interviews of this type are discussed and where many who work in similar fields and have gone through similar interview cycles may offer insight.

Good luck with the interview.
