Where can I find a pure source of water soluble MSG?

I bought some at the grocery store. Often it is not labeled MSG, but flavor enhancer or meat tenderizer, so read the labels. In the US, it can be found in the spice area called "Accent". If your grocery store is large, you may have an "international" section which might sell a bag of MSG for cheaper than the bottle from the spice aisle.

It should look exactly like salt. Apparently lower grades have yellow impurities.

Amazon sells it as well, but it costs much more than what I pay at the grocery store (I think I paid $3 for 1 lb).

Oh, and even impure MSG will be water soluble.
