Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hello, I'm an 8th grade student working on my science fair and I need someone to quote in my background research paper.So, I would like someone here to answer a few questions about my project. First of all, my problem question is- Does test color affect reading pace?And, listed below are the questions I would like an expert in this area to answer for me.

1) What is your oppinion on the answer to this question?
2) How do the brain and eyes function together so well, making you read?
3) How do your eyes see color?
4) How does the brain work when reading?
5) What physical things could affect the outcomes of this project?
6) What ( in your oppinion) is the best way to conduct this experiment?

hi,

i'm teaching biology in high school. the eyes are the organ which collect or recieve the stimuli from the outside environment of the individual while the brain interprets it. the light stimulate the optic nerves and sent the signal to the brain to be interpreted thus enabling you to "see" .

if you'll ask me, reading pace is highly affected by the students exposure to the reading material because reading seems to be a function of the non-declarative memory, that is, memorizing through constant repetition.

3) How do your eyes see color?

you better read about "optics"

again, if you'll ask me, attention span of your subjects is a very good way to start with your intervening variables!
