what is a solid?
what is a concentration solution?
what is concentration?
what is vinegar?
what is baking soda?
what is a chemical reaction?
what is an carbonate?
why does baking and vinegar create a gas?
Why does baking soda react with vinegar?
What gas is being created?
What is the realtionaship between baking soda and vinegar?
What causes the temperation, acid concentration, reactions to increase the gas release and foam?
when does the baking soda and vinegar create a gas?
When does the foaming occur?
Where does the foaming occur?

these are the questions i want to answer for my experiment.
Please help.thankyou.please answer as soon as possible.

Hi mimi2hy,
Welcome to the Ask an Expert forums. Sounds like you've got a fun experiment planned. The best way to find answers to many of those questions is to type them directly into a search engine like google.com. If you run into problems with that, just let us know!
Regards,
Chris

Hello,

Try using Google's "define" feature. For example:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&fkt= ... d&aq=f&oq=

As you can see, I typed in define: carbon acid

This should help you with at least some of them. Otherwise, a traditional Google search should be just fine.

how could i measure the rate of the reaction between vinegar and baking soda ?
same for hydrochloric acid an baking soda?

The rate of reaction will be determined by measuring the time required for a specific amount of NaHCO3, to be used up, first with stirring and then without stirring. The reaction between baking soda and vinegar is actually two reactions, an acid base reaction followed by a decomposition reaction.

Hope this helps.

mimi2hy,

It looks like you have a lot of questions, which is wonderful. Can you explain how these questions relate to your science fair project? To really be able to help you effectively, we need to know the question and hypothesis that you are using for your science fair project. If you can explain the experiment you are trying to do and tell us your question and hypothesis, we will be better able to help you.

Good luck!
