Hi
I am an 8th grader who has a science fair project due tomorrow. I have already done the experiment (which I got from your website :D thank you). But I still need to do most of the paper work. I took the DNA copies out of a strawberry and a kiwi. And in my report I wrote how a strawberry has 8 DNA copies in every cell. I also wrote that when a cell has 8 copies of DNA it is called an octoploid. But I need to know how many copies are in the cell of a kiwi and what it's called.
Thank you soooooooooooo much!!!!!!

Hi,

This website, which looks credible to me, says kiwi are diploid (two sets of chromosomes).

http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/m ... e00596.htm

And this site confirms strawberry is octoploid:

Hope this helps!
