For my intro to engineering class (im freshman) i need to build a elastic powered car here are the requirements:

the car can't be pushed or anything like that from me or my partner.

the car must move 10 feet+ to earn credit on the school kind of tile floor.

here are the materials:
8 rubber bands (regular size)
1 large piece of card board (16x16ish)
2 skewer sticks (sishkabob sticks)
1 stick of handitak (sticky stuff)
2 other undetermined materials but i think it can happen wthout them.

due date is monday the 12th.

Hi cballer,

Have you tried researching your topic on the internet?

Some queries that will get you started are to provide:
"how do you build an elastic powered car?" to google.com, ask.com and answers.com.

Why don't you try that and see if you get any ideas that help in your project.

Please let us know how the above works for you?
Also, please let us know if you have other questions. Thanks.

all of them on the internet are complex and use things like mousetraps and other things like that. this is a simple one i was thinking of wrapping the band around the sticks so it can spin the stick and the wheels as well and propel itself but i dont think that will make it 10 feet help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try searching for "rubber band spool motors".
