Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

How can i best use a decibel meter for my science project? I know it measures sound and I can predict if sounds will be soft/normal/loud and then measure them...challenge in creating hypothesis to test. Are there any variables etc that would help learn about sound? Thank you
