Hi I'm doing a science fair project on the durability of nail polish, comparing polish with and with out formaldehyde.
Can you help me formulate a question?

It sounds like you've got an interesting idea for a project. It sounds like this is your main question: "Does formaldehyde affect the durability of nail polish?"
