hi,
i am doing a project on saturated solutions:measuring solubilities.
i have 50g of solutes
in method1, step 3
it says to add a small amount of the solute to the water and stir with a clean disposable spoon until disssolved.
in step4 it tells me to repeat the process, always adding a small amount until the solute will no longer dissolve
i added all the 50g of solute, but it never stopped to dissolve in 100ml distilled water.
i need some help on this problem.

Hi maneeshv,
Welcome to the Ask an Expert forums. If I understand correctly, you are working on this experiment:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p050.shtml
and you dissolved all 50g of the substance in your water. Some possible ways to overcome this problem are to

(1) start with a smaller volume of water
or
(2) weigh out another 50 g of the solid and continue adding it to the 100mL water.

I hope that helps!
Chris
