Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I want to do a project related to bioinformatics, particularly on protein structure prediction (ex: Homology Modeling, Ab initio protein modelling, and protein threading methods). I was also interested in doing a project on genes highly expressed in breast cancer. I was unable to find myself a mentor for this project and I am having a hard time coming up with project to work on. I've been doing alot of reading on the field but I am still very confused about what work I should do. Could any of you give me any ideas?

As a first step, I would suggest putting "bioinformatics projects" into google.com. Do any of the projects look reasonable?

I don't know if I'd be a good mentor for your project. I haven't taken on such a role and may see if someone else can help.
