coral reefs

I am very interested in doing my project on coral reefs. I am looking for good ideas. Possibly dealing with fish or coral themselves, but I am concerned about harming them. At this point, I think I will probably just use 'live rock'-rock with algae growing on it. The only good idea I have so far is does iron help reduce the loss of calcium in coral. (it's supposed to) Any other ideas out there? Thanks

Hello,

Sounds like a good idea, but how are you going to quantify and measure this? I was also thinking: perhaps you can investigate how temperature/moisture/pH level would cause the algae to grow/die the fastest. You can test several acidic and basic household items for the pH experiment for example.
