heat to electricity

Can the room temp be used to charge a battery ..... is this possible... i just thought of working on this, since i have holidays .... but i doubt whether this would be an idiotic thought to venture upon .....

Hi,

You sound like you are interested in thermopiles, which generate electricity from a difference in temperature, using the Seebeck effect. Here is a great historical review of them:
