Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

what i would realy like is to have more back ground information on what the bactiria in microbial fule cells (MFC's) do to contribute to the whole process. i understand that they emit electrons but i realy would like to know more its extreamly interesting to me. =] guess im just a cell nerd like that. also the do the protons come from the bactiria too? Any input would be apriciated immensely.
