can some one teach me step by step what assembly language is. i mean word by word. it will take awhile but i really need this and want to learn it. i am an 8th grader

why wont anyone post anything?????? does anyone even know what assembly language is???? if not then please tell me.

Assembly language is specific to the microprocessor that you are programming for. So without knowing the chipset you are interested in, it is not possible to provide additional information.

As you have indicated, assembly language is also very cumbersome and time consuming to program in. It would take someone months to help you learn the language online. I would suggest that you buy a book for this. There are several good ones available on Amazon and other sites,

Assembly language is particularly fun to learn -- precisely because it is a very "low-level" programming language. By "low level", I mean that you need to understand how the CPU is made and how it functions -- because you are concerned about data flowing from CPU register to register or computer memory. You will really learn how a CPU functions, if you learn this.

Depending on what computer you will use to do some assembly programming, you can find appropriate books at Borders..... or even perhaps free manuals online.

Not a dumb question, by any means!

If you want to start a new topic under the Grades 6-8: Math and Computer Science category, I believe that if you go back to the Grades 6-8 Math and Computer Science category page, you will see a button with the label "New Topic" on the left hand side of the screen (to the left of the search box).

If you want to start a new topic under one of the other categories, go to the Grades 6-8 "main" page, select the category you wish to post to, and then click the "New Topic" on that category page.
