Hi Mbiologist,
Welcome to science buddies! We have the resources to help you find an actual experiment to do. It sounds like you have already done your background research on this topic. You might want to check with your teacher and ask if you have to do a controlled experiment with independent and dependent variables or if analysis of published data is acceptable. You want to make sure you follow all of the guidelines for the assignment, and many teachers and science fairs do require an actual experiment.
First you can check out the process for starting a project at the science buddies website:

Next, for a specific experiment, you can look at the reference under tornadoes, also on the science buddies website.

Look through all of the references on this website to get an idea for a specific experiment. One possibility would be to do the tornado in a bottle demonstration, varying the temperature to show the effect of temperature on the “tornado.”
Once you have selected an experiment, you need to identify your independent and dependent variables. Also, do you know what you would measure in your experiment?
I hope this helps you get started. Don’t forget to plan ahead so you have time to repeat your results and do a really good job on the write up
