identifying microorganisms on agar plates

I have innoculated 2agar plates from a swab of rockmelon. The colonies have grown and I need to identify what they are without the use of stains or microscope. Most colonies are round, glistening and yellow or cream. How do I know if they are a yeast or a bacterial colony from just the naked eye? The are some larger circumferenced colonies that are not as wet looking, and are probably fungal, but these have not spored yet and are of the same pale cream colour. Please help- perhaps a good website ar some advice??

Here's a good website about identifying colonies from Science Buddies: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ates.shtml . If that doesn't help, post back and we will provide further help.

Good luck!
