Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

i am sorry that i got so upset about ,the word homework ,because this is really a sciencece project and the in formation you gave damien is what we already ahve,and we do have a contact with the university of gumam Dr.K.,Moot,
The teacher is the one that insist that you can give damien the answers to his questions.showed her your reply
so now we have compromised, all damien needs to do is to answer the question and put where he got them at.we had already done that
let me tell you about damien ,e is 11 years old and has aspergers autism which .he has almost all under control .he has worked very hard to accomplish this,he is a A student and this is his 1st year of regular 6th grade calsses ,no more special ed
mom and dad are divorced he lives with mom in guam she is in the air force and now deployed in the desert this is her 4th time
she had to leave just as school started ,damien was scared and uset,but quickly settled into a routine,he is and we are very proud of what he has accomplished these past years ,
so when you tell me homework not a science project.it upset me .because i know other wise
i am taking care of damien ,his other siblings while mom is away.

Thanks for your message. I can understand what kind of help Damien needs now. I have worked with many children with learning disabilities through the years, and I know that a science project can be a very rewarding experience, so please keep encouraging your grandson. I will try to respond to his questions and try to give appropriate suggestions for completing the project. I am not an expert at squid biology, however. Can you help Damien find more information on the internet? He needs to learn as much about his chosen topic as he can on his own.

The science buddies website is staffed by volunteers and all of us have full-time jobs and many other responsibilities. The purpose of the site to provide help in the process of doing a science project; we definitely don't have time to look up and answer lists of questions on various topics. Please explain this to Damien's teacher, as it sounds like there is a big misunderstanding about the purpose of the website. We are trying to encourage everyone to do excellent scientific research.

It sounds like you have a lot of responsibility and work. Your grandchildren are very lucky to have a grandmother who really cares about them. Good luck to you!
