I currently am looking into doing a scientific project about apoptosis. I have a lot of information, I just need help to sort it all together, and make it into a do-able experiment. If you could please tell me if their is any on-going reserach about apoptosis and who is doing it would help GREATLY!
Also any websites that have on-going research would help, and any websites that have RECENT data on apoptosis would also help!

jfferriswheel,
There are a ton of research groups pursuing a dizzying number of factors that induce and effect apoptosis in mammalian cells. Not only are there a significant number of proteins (and consequently genes) that are involved in apoptosis, there are a lot of research articles about what factors can induce apoptosis-exclusive of what actually goes on inside the cell. Could you be more specific as to what aim you are trying to prove or show with your project?
Try looking at the site pubmed.gov and search for the term 'apoptosis'; you will get a LOT of articles on the subject. It isn't easy reading; so I suggest that you pick out a topic from all of your information gathering that you would like to pursue on apoptosis.
Hope that helps,
James

I am not quite sure on what I would like to actually do with apoptosis. Trying to use apoptosis to kill cancer cells would be intereseting to me, however, like you said, finding understanable research is a challenge. Do you know any sites that have very current research about apoptosis effecting cancer cells.

Try pubmed.gov and search for 'apoptosis review' or 'apoptosis.' Mind you, there will be some intense reading. So, don't get discouraged immediately.
