Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I really need help with my science fair project. The question is- does the color of a surfac affect the rate at which it absorbs or releases heat?
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT EXPERIMENT TO DO TO FIND OUT THE ANSWER! will someone please give me a procedure??????????????? this website is my last hope!
