Hi,

Here is a link to sunspot data for several centuries:

http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/SOLAR/ftps ... umber.html

http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/SOLAR/SSN/ssn.html

http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/SOLAR/sgdintro.html

Here is geomagnetic data:

http://spidr.ngdc.noaa.gov/spidr/datase ... eomagnetic

http://space.rice.edu/MMS/activities/04 ... storms.pdf

http://journals.cambridge.org/action/di ... aid=310299

http://nova.stanford.edu/~vlf/IHY_Test/ ... ercise.pdf

http://center.stelab.nagoya-u.ac.jp/web ... mdb17.html

I hope this information helps. I have not found a nice neat concise easily understood historical record of geomagnetic storm activity. If you look around you can find kots of descriptions of major geomagnetic storm events.

Best wishes for a very successful project, and remember to have fun doing it!

Best regards,

Barrett L. Tomlinson
