I just started with the Buoyancy of Floating Cylinders Project and I am running into the same difficulties as posted previously. The food coloring is seeping throughout all the wooden cylinders and the jello did not make any useable line. I will try egg coloring as it is readily available now, but does anyone have any further ideas on how to make this experiment work properly. Appreciate the help

hi bobby15,
At the moment I can't think of anything besides what was suggested earlier. I would try using a different type of wood and/or not putting the dowels in the dye for so long. Sorry you are having trouble with one of our experiments. Science Buddies is aware of the problem.
If you continue having problems, please post a new topic in one of the physical science forums (that are appropriate to your grade level). We almost missed your post because this topic is so old and already has lots of responses.
Good luck!
