Help needed on Crystal Radio Antenna

I am replicating this project for my 11th grade Physics class. While reading the instructions for the Crystal Radio, I am completely stumped on how to create the antenna and ground. I am really confused on how to make it, with the 100' of wire and all. This is time sensitive, so please reply!
Thanks.

When I was a boy in the 30's, a crystal set was my only radio for a while. For a ground, just wrap bare copper wire around a water pipe and connect that to the ground post on your radio. The antenna wire can be strung between the house and a tree. use a piece of plastic (maybe cut from a plastic bottle) from the house and tree. Long is good, but it doesn't have to be in a straight line. House to tree to another tree is just fine.
