Hello,
My name is David Ingalls. I am currently enrolled in the pre-engineering classes, at the Meridian Technology Center. In my class, Engineering design and development, I had to choose a semester long project. Currently I am working on developing a compact disc that is more resistant to scratching or a product that is able to fix the scratches. Would you mind if I asked you some questions?

1. What materials are cd’s made of?
2. How do cd’s work?
3. How are scratches in cd’s currently fixed today?
4. What is wrong with the process people go through to fix the scratches on the cd’s?
5. What materials are more resistant to scratching?
6. If there are any materials or chemicals that can help prevent scratching, why are companies not using them?
Thank you for taking the time to read this email, and answering the questions. I hope to hear from you soon.

-David Ingalls

David - I've split your topic off into its own thread so that Experts will be able to better assist you.
