I am not sure if this will help , but you could examine the effect of distance on different frequencies of light. You could then determine the most effective light forlonger distance viewing, which could be valuable in stop signs, exit signs, emergency lights, etc.

Quang,
I recommend reading about the "inverse-square law", which describes how the intensity of light decreases with distance from the source. Think about how this applies to flashlights, streetlights, any lights you see in everyday use. You might also be interested in reading about laser (coherent) light and how that behaves a little bit differently.

Another use for this type of information in real life may be seeing car headlights, especially while passing on two lane roads.
