If I am using the real fur from an animal, would you consider this animal tissue? Thank you!

Hello,
No, I don't believe animal fur counts as animal tissue exactly because fur is just the "hair" for an animal and that doesn't count as tissue...However if you were to actually get some skin from an animal, that would count as animal tissue...Here is an article describing what tissue is exactly:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tissue_%28 ... al_tissues (look under "animal tissue")
Hope that helps!
Post if you have any more questions/clarifications!

Hi there,
You have an excellent project idea, with really important implications, as oil spills can affect the function of animal fur and feathers.
As the other expert mentioned, your samples would be considered animal tissue if the skin is attached. Does your science fair have restrictions against using animal tissue?

My science fair does not have restrictions against using animal tissue. Thank you very much! This has helped me alot. (Not to mention saved me from doing that much more paperwork.)
