Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

ohkay, i know i've seen other people ask the same question but im not really sure how to do my trials for my project. i know the procedure but im not sure how to show it on a chart if i don't do more than one trial. is it nessecary?

doing several trials is simple.All you are doing is repeating the procedure so you are just repeating what you did several times and recording the information each time.It is highly recommended and usually necessary that you have several trials in your science fair.And how are you demonstrating your data?If you are only demonstrating one trial you enter the information like you would if you were making a regular chart.If you need any clarification or need help just post.

Science diplomat has given you good advice; you need to repeat your experiment to verify that the results are reproducible. It might be helpful if you explained more details about your experiment. Hopefully, you have designed a carefully controlled experiment, with just one parameter that will vary. This is your independent variable. The result, or dependent variable, is hopefully something that can be measured and you would report results of each trial in the results section.
