How do you "keep the water flow constant" in the experiment "Underground Water Flow and Darcy's Law"??

Hi,

I think you are doing this project:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p014.shtml

The experimental outline does not include any suggestions for controlling the water flow, but this would be needed to be able to compare results between the soda bottles. I would recommend running water slowly from a hose to keep the water bottle filled. You would need to do the project outside or in a sink to accommodate the overflow. If you have a fish tank pump or peristaltic pump you could use that and calibrate the inflow to match the outflow. If these ideas are not feasible for you, you will probably need to ask someone to keep the bottles filled while you measure the outflow.

This is a great project.
