Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I am using the link from withing Science Buddies for building a low power AM Transmitter. However I am having difficulty making the correct connections on the breadboard, since the one pictured at: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p024.shtml Is a different breadboard. Will someone assist me in determining the correct connections using Radio Shack Breadboard part number 276-001, which is referenced as a suitable part fr completing this project. Project due date is 24 Jan 2011. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

malkenz - The Radio Shack breadboard you mentioned should be very similar to any universal breadboard like the one shown in the Science Buddies experiment. I don't have the RS board, but looking at the picture shown on their website, the board appears to have two banks of 5 hole columns (look at the board with the long dimension on the horizontal). These two banks are separated by a space. The columns of 5 vertical holes are connected together. The groups of 5x2 holes at the top (and possibly the bottom, but the picture doesn't show it) are used for power buses or other tie points if they are isolated. I'm not sure how they interconnected them, your instruction sheet should tell you that. If you have a multimeter, use the resistance scale to verify if necessary. Your circuit has a minimum of connections, so you shouldn't have too many problems once you understand how the breadboard is configured.
