In "measuring the surface tension of water" it gives you the formula F=2sd, but i dont know how to find F (force) so that i can rearrange the problem to find the surface tension. Can anybody help me???

Hi,

Here is a Science Buddies project writeup that describes how to measure surface tension. It should answer your question:

Good luck and have fun with it!

In the experimental procedure that Barrett referenced, pay attention to sections 4c and 4d. They tell you how to determine the weight you put in the balance pan. Once you convert this weight to Newtons, that becomes the force "F" in the equation. Carefully follow the remaining step in the procedure to learn how to convert the force to Newtons.
