Enter gene sequence to the GenBank

This year I did a project based upon the Science Buddies project idea "Investigate Native Plant Evolution with Chloroplast Sequencing" ( https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p012.shtml). The native plant I chose to have sequenced, the woolly twinpod (or Physaria didymocarpa var. lanata), has not been sequenced before (when I entered in my gene sequence, there were no direct species matches). What do I need to do to enter these sequences in the GenBank? I did find a web submittal page (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/WebSub/?tool=genbank) but I am unsure how to proceed.

Hi Lydia!
Sounds like you've been doing great work! Actually, I suggest that you email [email protected] or [email protected] with the subject as "Help Submitting Sequence Data to GenBank." They will help you enter in your data! Hope this helps!
