Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

It’s always good to be planning for next year’s project. The reason that there are no goldfish projects is that science fair projects on vertebrate animals are not encouraged. You could do a project on this topic, but it would require special permission and getting permission in advance.

Here are the rules for doing experiments on vertebrate animals:

You can do a project at home if you are observing behavior, for example, observing a preference for different food sources. You could not do anything that could possibly harm the fish.

There’s no problem doing a project on invertebrates, on water quality, or many other topics related to your interest and you can develop a unique project. Based on your experience in raising fish, are there any questions you have that could be answered by doing a controlled experiment? Is there any problem that you have encountered that you would like to solve with a scientific approach?
